Hydrant Flushing Scheduled for Zone 1
Inframark, LLC water personnel will begin flushing water hydrants for the City of Hawkinsville beginning on Monday, January 30, 2023 through Tuesday, February 28, 2023, weather permitting, for Zone 1, click here to view map. Flushing will take place Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. in the area between Hwy. 129 South Water Plant and Veterans Memorial Avenue.
The Water Department will do everything possible to minimize any disturbance during flushing periods. Please watch for signs that will be posted, notifying customers of flushing areas. It is recommended that customers set aside clean water for drinking and cooking purposes should you experience any discoloration. Be advised, temporary discoloration of the water and a chlorine taste is to be expected during the flushing period. Please check water for clarify before doing any laundry.
If discoloration is detected, we recommend running the cold water closest to the meter (outside faucet or bath tub) for at least 10 minutes or until the water clears. If sediment is in the water, do not run any water for approximately 30 minutes, giving the water time to settle. If an emergency arises, and water is needed, it is not harmful to consume.

Engineering Firm Request for Qualifications
The City of Hawkinsville is in the process of applying for grant funding to assist with natural gas distribution improvements.The City is seeking an engineering firm with broad experience to provide design and construction supervision for this project that will utilize funds primarily from the DOT grant program if awarded. These grants are funded by the federal government; therefore, all activities must be performed in strict adherence to applicable federal and state regulations. Where on the city’s website will answers to the questions be posted? Answers will be posted on this posting (under the “bids and solicitations” section of the website).

We want to visit the site before submitting our proposal. Will you be available to guide such a site visit? or is there someone in Hawkinsville that that can lead us? I have copied Sara Myers, Hawkinsville’s City Manager, on this email. She should be able to coordinate a site visit.
