The City of Hawkinsville and Pulaski County, in conjunction with the Hawkinsville-Pulaski Chamber of Commerce and United Pulaski, Inc.¬†is pleased to announce the release of their new¬†unified website at This new website was designed to provide a single point of access for local residents, business and visitors to access services and learn more about what is happening in the community. ¬†In addition to City and County cooperation, which is commonplace in this community, the new website was also developed through an unprecedented partnership with the local Chamber of Commerce and United Pulaski, Inc., which serves as the independent economic development arm of the county. ¬†‚ÄúWe look forward to using our new website as a tool to support the service that we provide to city residents,‚ÄĚ said Tim Young, City Manager, ‚Äúand we are confident that visitors to the site will find it to be an easy and convenient way to engage with the local officials and¬†staff.‚ÄĚ

New Features and Functionality

The new site features many significant upgrades over the old separate City and County websites. ¬†Most notably, the new website has been designed to function effectively as a mobile site for your smartphone or tablet device. ¬†This “responsive” design is viewed as a necessity for today’s website visitors as an increasing number of web users are primarily viewing the site on their smartphone and it is important to give them an optimal viewing and reading experience. ¬†Other notable features include an RSS subscription for those visitors¬†who want to receive news and information from the website conveniently in their email or through their favorite feed reader. ¬†Simply register your email to receive news updates like this press release by clicking here.

This new unified website was developed in partnership with the Middle Georgia Regional Commission (MGRC), a regional planning organization that supports community and economic development through service to its member local governments and partner agencies. ‚ÄúThis was a unique and challenging project in that it was a combination of up to six previously separate sites controlled by¬†four distinct organizations,‚ÄĚ said Nick Kouloungis, Director of Technology Services at the MGRC. ‚ÄúHowever, cooperation among agencies for the betterment of the community has always been a hallmark in Hawkinsville and Pulaski County and we are proud to assist the community by designing a web-presence that will serve as an asset supporting the common development and service goals.‚ÄĚ
