Downtown Hawkinsville’s Main Street Program will host a Downtown Clean Up on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The Downtown Clean Up will start at 10 AM and volunteers are asked to meet at Cabero Park (115 Commerce Street). Trash bags, gloves, and water will be provided. Shop at 3 local businesses or vendors and get your card punched. Complete your card and drop it off at the Downtown Main Street booth at The Green Space for a chance to win a prize at 2 PM.

The Hawkinsville–Pulaski County Holiday Decoration Contest invites all local businesses to join in spreading Christmas cheer by decorating their storefronts. This year’s contest encourages participants to incorporate the community’s parade theme, helping create a festive atmosphere throughout town. Winners will be determined by community voting, making this a fun and engaging way for residents to support their favorite businesses.
Participation is open to any business located within Hawkinsville–Pulaski County. Businesses must register by November 18, 2026, and pick up or request delivery of a QR code between November 19–21 from 8:30 AM to 5 PM at 56 Broad Street, Suite 102. The QR code must be displayed on the business’s window or door to allow public voting. All decorations must be completed by November 21.
Voting will take place from November 21 through November 28 at 2 PM. Community members can vote by scanning the QR codes displayed at participating businesses and by liking their favorite decorated storefronts on Downtown Hawkinsville’s Facebook page. Votes from both methods will be combined to determine the winner.
The business with the most votes will be announced at the Christmas Tree Lighting on Saturday, November 28 at 5 PM. Participants are encouraged to have a representative present at the event. MAIN STREET COMMITTEE

The Main Street Committee is made up of subcommittees that include the Organization Subcommittee, Promotion Subcommittee, Economic Vitality Subcommittee and Design Subcommittee. The Main Street Committee is made up of downtown commercial district property owners, business owners, employees, and residents that help with strategic downtown planning initiatives.
ORGANIZATION
This committee lays the foundation for effective Downtown redevelopment by focusing on strategic planning, resource allocation, community involvement, financial resources, and building strong partnerships. They work closely with local government bodies, non-profit organizations, and community leaders to ensure a coordinated approach towards achieving common goals.
PROMOTION
A lively Downtown relies on effective promotion and marketing strategies. The Promotion Committee is tasked with enhancing Downtown’s visibility, organizing events, festivals, and activities that attract residents and visitors alike. They also position the downtown commercial district as the hub of economic activity and create a positive image that highlights a community’s unique characteristics. Their efforts not only promote local businesses but also create memorable experiences that contribute to Downtown’s appeal.
ECONOMIC VITALITY
Sustainable economic growth is essential for the long-term success of Downtown. The Economic Vitality Committee focuses on business development, entrepreneurship support, market analysis, and property development strategies. By fostering a thriving business ecosystem, they contribute to job creation, economic diversity, and increased investment in Downtown.
DESIGN
The aesthetics and functionality of Downtown spaces play a crucial role in shaping the overall experience. The Design Committee focuses on enhancing the physical environment through urban design, streetscape improvements, historic preservation, and beautification projects. Their work aims to create inviting and pedestrian-friendly spaces that reflect the unique character of Downtown.
DOWNTOWN HAWKINSVILLE AMBASSADORS

A Downtown Hawkinsville Ambassador can be anyone who lives in Pulaski County and loves Downtown Hawkinsville! Hawkinsville Helpers are the boots on the ground workers who help see our HDDA Board and Main Street Committees plans through. Hawkinsville Helpers volunteer to be ambassadors for Downtown Hawkinsville, work events, participate in clean ups, and engage in helping beautify Downtown Hawkinsville. If you are interested in being a Hawkinsville Helpers, fill out an application and make sure you mark your interests and a staff person will reach out to you soon.
