Our Mission
The mission of the Pulaski County Fire Department is to protect the property and lives of the people of this city and county from all emergencies, involving fire, hazardous materials, and all man-made or natural disasters. We will provide the best response possible with the emergency personnel and equipment we have.
To Become a Firefighter
You must be…
- at least 17½ years of age at the time of application and 18 years old at the time of hire
- valid driver’s license at time of application and valid Georgia driver’s license at time of hire
- high school diploma or GED at time of appointment
- U. S. citizen at time of application
- pass background check
Fire Prevention and Public Education
Our Fire Safety Education Program is an instrument in educating all members of our community in the importance of fire safety. Our Fire Safety Officer is responsible for programs in the community, such as the Smoke Detector and Community Education Program, which includes visiting local Personal Care Homes, Nursing Homes, and Housing Authority residents to teach and promote fire safety.
