The Commissioner holds a monthly regular meeting on the first Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m. The agenda for the meeting is prepared 3-5 days in advance and posted on the bulletin board outside of the Commissioner’s Office and on this website.

The Pulaski County Sole Commissioner holds significant responsibility in governing the county, serving as both the legislative and executive body. This means they are responsible for:

      • Policy-making and administration: The commissioner oversees the daily operations and management of the county, setting the agenda and making decisions that impact county functions.
      • Budgeting: A key responsibility is managing the county budget and finances, including approving the annual budget and determining the county’s tax levy.
      • Oversight of County Departments: The commissioner oversees various county departments to ensure they are operating effectively.
      • Representing the County: The commissioner represents Pulaski County’s interests at the state and federal levels.
      • Working with other officials: The commissioner collaborates with the city commission to achieve goals and address challenges.

Note: The role of the sole commissioner differs from a typical county commission which usually has a board of multiple commissioners. Pulaski County is one of the few counties in Georgia that operates under this form of government.
