Pulaski County is considering applying to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for a Community Development Block Grant of up to $1,000,000 for the construction of a new community senior center. The activities for which these funds may be used are in the areas of housing, public facilities, and economic development that primarily benefit low- and moderate-income persons.
More specific details regarding eligible activities, disclosure of a possible conflict of interest pertaining to elected officials living in the project’s target area, fair housing laws and Pulaski County’s commitment to further fair housing, the estimated amount of funds proposed to be used for activities to benefit low- and moderate-income persons, and the rating system will be provided at a public hearing, which will be held at the Pulaski County Senior Citizens Center, 191 Broad Street, Hawkinsville, GA 31036, on Friday, March 17, 2023, at 10:00 am.
The purpose of this hearing will be to obtain citizen input into the development of the application. Pulaski County is committed to providing all persons with equal access to its services, programs, activities, education, and employment regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, disability, or age. Intent to Process Absentee Ballots
Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-386(a)(3), this is to notify the citizens of Pulaski County that the Pulaski County Board of Elections will begin to process absentee ballots cast in the March 21st 2023 Special Municipal Election, March 20th 2023 at 1:00 pm. This will take place in the Voter Registration Office, Pulaski County Courthouse Annex, 45 South Lumpkin Street, Hawkinsville, GA

Public Notice for Computation and Canvassing of Returns
Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21-2-492 notice is hereby given that the computation and canvassing of the returns of votes cast in the March 21st 2023 Special Municipal Election will take place in the Voter Registration Office, Pulaski County Courthouse Annex, 45 South Lumpkin Street, Suite 113, Hawkinsville, GA., beginning at 1:30 p.m. on March 24th, 2023.

LOGIC AND ACCURACY TESTING
Pursuant to O.C.G.A 21-2-379.25; notice is hereby given that the logic and accuracy testing on the voting equipment to be used in the March 21, 2023 Special Election for Advance in Person Voting will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday February 21, 2023 until completed. The testing will be at the Pulaski County Courthouse Annex, 45 South Lumpkin Street, Hawkinsville, GA. The test procedure is open to the public.

Commissioner Meeting time change
The Pulaski County Commissioner’s meeting scheduled for Monday, February 6, 2023 will begin at 11:00 am in the Annex building located at 45 S. Lumpkin St, Hawkinsville, GA.
Hydrant Flushing Scheduled for Zone 1
Inframark, LLC water personnel will begin flushing water hydrants for the City of Hawkinsville beginning on Monday, January 30, 2023 through Tuesday, February 28, 2023, weather permitting, for Zone 1, click here to view map. Flushing will take place Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. in the area between Hwy. 129 South Water Plant and Veterans Memorial Avenue.
The Water Department will do everything possible to minimize any disturbance during flushing periods. Please watch for signs that will be posted, notifying customers of flushing areas. It is recommended that customers set aside clean water for drinking and cooking purposes should you experience any discoloration. Be advised, temporary discoloration of the water and a chlorine taste is to be expected during the flushing period. Please check water for clarify before doing any laundry.
If discoloration is detected, we recommend running the cold water closest to the meter (outside faucet or bath tub) for at least 10 minutes or until the water clears. If sediment is in the water, do not run any water for approximately 30 minutes, giving the water time to settle. If an emergency arises, and water is needed, it is not harmful to consume.
We apologize for any inconvenience and we appreciate the cooperation of our Hawkinsville customers in our effort to maintain the highest quality of potable water possible.

Call for Special Election
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with O.C.G.A. §21-2-540, a special election shall be held in The City of Hawkinsville to fill the vacancy in Post 1 of the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Hawkinsville, Georgia caused by the death of Commissioner James A. Colson. The special election will be held on March 21, 2023.
Qualifying for the special election shall be held at the Office of the Election Superintendent beginning at 8:30 AM on January 23rd 2023 and ending at 4:30 PM on January 25th, 2023. The qualifying fee shall be $162.00.
All persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to register to vote in the special election may register to vote through the close of business on February 21, 2023.
Early voting will held February 27th through March 17th 2023.
Polls will be open from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm on Election Day.
Should a runoff election be required, such runoff will be held on April 181\ 2023.

The Pulaski County Board of Elections will conduct a Risk Limiting Audit on December 14, 2022 for the purpose of producing trusted results that reflect the will of eligible Georgia voters. The audit process will begin at 9:00 am and will continue until the process is complete.
